Ground Penetrating Radar Services
Preserves 50 Year Old Radiant Flooring – January
2007
|
|
In January of 2007, Ground Penetrating Radar Services was contracted to find piping for a radiant floor heating
system prior to the installation of new HVAC and plumbing
in a home in Worthington, Ohio. The home had radiant flooring
that was estimated to be approximately 50 years old. Ground
Penetrating Radar was suggested to the owner by Ohio Concrete
Sawing and Drilling as the best way to ensure the installation
of the HVAC without damaging the piping used to heat the
floor.

|
|
|
On site Ground Penetrating Radar Services scanned approximately 20 different locations
where saw cuts were to be made the following day. The piping
was quickly found and many of the cuts were repositioned
to avoid damage to any of the piping.
|

|
Mitch Ross of Ground Penetrating Radar Services also scanned several concrete wall
areas that would be cut or demolished as part of the renovations.
Even though there was no radiant heating system in the walls,
this was done to ensure that no electrical conduit was cut
or damaged during the construction process. |
|
When Ohio Concrete Sawing and Drilling came in the following
day, they were able to make all their saw cuts without damaging
a single pipe in the radiant floor or cutting any electrical
conduit. This result pleased the owner of the property and
the concrete cutter, proving Ground Penetrating Radar Services to be a worthwhile investment.
