EPS – GPR Project @ Mile Marker Number 4 Key West

When the Environmental Performance Systems of West Palm Beach, FL needed to determine the location of existing storm sewer lines to locate buried sewer access points they contacted GPRS, Inc of Miami, FL.  EPS was on the FDOT project and needed to determine the location of the sewer lines so they could uncover the buried sewer lids.  Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. has used their equipment to perform similar surveys with great success and was confident they would be able to provide the results EPS was looking for.

On site GPRS surveyed an area approximately 500’x25’ to confirm the findings over a large sample group.  They made field markings of the findings and relayed the information to the site contact for EPS and FDOT.  GPRS was also able to provide “approximate” pipe sizes.  Ground penetrating radar is a great tool for determining the presence of underground utilities because of the equipments portability and ease of use.  These pieces of information were critical to project moving forward.  Overall the project was a success and the EPS was highly satisfied with the information and data ground penetrating radar was able to provide on their project.

Glenn Zebrowski runs GPRS operations in the South Florida.  He is based in Miami, FL and he can be reached at (305)801.4138 or by email at glenn.zebrowski@gp-radar.com. Utility scanning and surveying is a common application performed by the GPR technicians at GPRS.
