Core Drilling at GT Electric at Inova
Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, Va.

In August 2009, GT Electric needed to core drill several holes for a project at the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, Va. The project manager contacted GPRS, Inc. to scan the floors to ensure that the areas they needed to core in was clear of conduits and tension cables. GPR was the perfect application for this job because GPR is a totally non- invasive/non-destructive testing which allows the hospital to continue day to day operations without any delays. Ground Penetrating Radars Virginia Office which is ran by Regional Director, Jamey Harmon, was able to come to the site and mark out all of the items located in the floor to ensure the project could run smoothly.

These pictures show some of the mark up that was done at the site. All markings were done in tape so that the floors were not damaged.

If your company has a project where you need to core drill or saw cut an existing concrete floor contact GPRS, Inc. to ensure you know what lies beneath. The Virginia and Maryland offices are ran by Regional Director Jamey Harmon and can be contacted at (703)728-7333 or by email jamey.harmon@gp-radar.com.
