Concrete Imaging in Salt Lake City, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. mobilized to Salt Lake City, Utah to assist in the process of reinforcing a current parking structure.  GPRS was called to the site to demonstrate the capabilities of GPR technology (GPR is sometimes referred to as concrete imaging or ground sonar). The GPR proved to be an appropriate technology to locate the necessary items within the concrete. Precast beams needed to be scanned in order to locate all rebar and pre-tensioned cables. In addition to the pre-cast beams the job required all vertical beams to have the rebar located as well as a 2ft wide strip along the concrete curbs.

concrete x-ray process

GPRS of Utah was chosen for the job over traditional concrete x-ray because the concrete x-ray process would have taken much longer than GPR which would have in turn created an astronomical cost. GPRS mobilized to the site and was able to keep the project on schedule.

If you would like to locate steel in a concrete structure please contact Utah’s Regional Director, Jason Schaff at 801.599.2115 or email at Jason.Schaff@gp-radar.com. Ground Penetrating Radar Technology is able to map out post and pre-tensioned tendons, rebar, wire mesh mats and conduits.  Concrete Imaging can be provided in Salt Lake City, South Jordan, St. George, Provo, Ogden, Sandy and Boise, Idaho.
