Colorado Springs, CO

GPRS of Denver recently completed a concrete x-ray using GPR at a United States Air Force base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The project involved a Post-Tensioned Slab on grade that needed to be examined to determine if it was installed correctly with the correct amount of concrete cover.  The question was asked, “Will GPRS Denver travel to Colorado Springs for a project”? GPRS has nationwide service available and will consider any job at any location.

In the above picture the technician is verifying the
depth to the PT Tendon marked by the black line.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc mobilized to the site and was able to mark out the slab. Concrete X-Ray was called for on this project but was not able to be used due to the slab being on the ground. GPR requires access to only one side of the slab.  GPR is quickly being used as “The New Way to X-Ray” in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.  The cables were potted on the surface of the concrete very quickly and the depths to the cables were marked as well. A report was provided to the customer for documentation of the GPR survey.

These images show the Post Tension Cables marked
out on the concrete slab including their depths.

If you would like to investigate what is inside a concrete slab please contact us. GPRS of Denver can verify Rebar placement and depth, Wire Mesh placement and depth, and Post-Tension investigations as well.  GPR scans can be provided in Colorado Springs, Denver, Parker, Longmont, Estes Park and Cheyenne, Wyoming.
