City View LLC. GPR Project in Jackson, MS

City View LLC was in the process of remodeling one of their residential properties in the Jackson, MS and they became concerned about the strength of the cast-in-place concrete roof.  City View had plans to install some large block structures on the roof and they did not know what type of loads they could expect the roof to carry.  They contact GPRS to determine what type of surveying and results they could achieve with ground penetrating radar.  They were glad to find out that elevated concrete slab investigations were common practice for GPR and the results would be conclusive evidence of what the reinforcing present.  Chris with GPRS explained that ground penetrating radar would be able to provide the precise location of the rebar found in the in concrete as well as an estimate of the bar size.  They would mark out all of the findings on site as well as provide a report detailing the survey results.  This last step was important as City View would need to contact an engineering firm to assess the results and determine what loads could be placed on the roof.

On site GPRS surveyed 11 different areas on the roof and throughout the building.  The data results were excellent and the results provided conclusive evidence as to the contents of the slab.  The report was provided within 2 days following the survey as City View was on a tight schedule and needed answers quickly.  City View LLC was pleased with the results of the survey and was highly complementary of the professionalism and accuracy attained by GPRS.  Overall, the project was highly successful.
