Ground Penetrating Radar Systems (GPRS) was recently contacted by Brown & Sons Electric to use their ground penetrating radar technology to scan the concrete for rebar, post tension cables, as well as electrical conduits prior to coring 8 holes at a Phoenix, Arizona location.  Once on site, Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was quickly able to determine the concrete slab thickness, the location of the rebar, post tension cables in the area of the cores.  The items located were marked directly on the concrete slab, so that the customer could have the cores done that same day.

Ground Penetrating Radar is ideal for precise location of rebar,  post-tension cables prior to saw cutting and/or core drilling, mapping of electrical conduits, detection of sub-surface voids and utilities, and detection of underground storage tanks.  Ground Penetrating Radar Systems can also perform concrete inspections.
