Arora GPR Property Inspection
GPRS, Inc was contacted by Mr. Arora of Maximaa, Inc. about locating and identifying underground storage tanks. He explained that he was looking to purchase a small commercial lot that had once been occupied by a fueling station. Old maps indicated the presence of four different underground storage tanks on site. Of the four, two of the UST were thought to be removed; however, the other two were unaccounted for. The project was on a rush basis as the deadline for purchase was drawing near so GPRS mobilized to Miami, FL to complete a GPR field survey to determine if the tanks were still present.

The GPRS technician used a 400MHz antenna to survey the property. The entire survey took roughly 1.5 hours and low and behold two tanks were located. The tanks were in close proximity to each other and were buried approximately 30” deep. The technician marked each of the reactions on the ground and recorded the data for reporting purposes.

A report of the findings was then provided to the customer so he could present the seller with the GPR data and tank evidence found on his property. UST’s can be a costly clean up process and the use of GPR in this case, may help the buyer, Mr. Arora, avoid the property or negotiate differently with the seller. Overall, Mr. Arora was pleased with the service he received and the results of the survey itself.
