Nuclear Reactor:

"Ground Penetrating Radar was recently contracted by CH2M Hill to perform radar scanning in and around a nuclear reactor facility. The project planned to drill a number of holes around the reactor, both inside and outside, to determine the conditions of the surrounding soils. Facilities drawings were available, however, making contact with any buried utilities and/or penetration into any safety or process systems was unacceptable. Therefore it was determined scanning of the area was necessary. GPRS was contacted on short notice and was willing to meeting the quick turn-around needed to support the project schedule. Matt Aston was very professional, asked the right questions to prepare for the job, mobilized with several radar scanning technologies, promptly set-up and performed the scanning, and demobilized without any wasted time. Through the scanning, Matt was able to locate very specific areas to avoid and pinpoint areas with no obstructions. A number of obstructions were detected through scanning that were not known through reviews of the facility drawings. The project drilled the holes without interference with buried utilities or penetration into any of the support systems. Without the radar scanning work the success of this effort would be in question. And thanks to the professional and knowledgeable support of Matt Aston, the project was able to maintain the tight schedule."
